She was born in Hornell, NY, on November 5, 1935, a daughter of Herman and Iva Dunkell Dennis and moved to Amsterdam as a child. Sharon was a 1953, graduate of Broadalbin High School and was a longtime area resident. Mrs. Cornell was employed as a teacher’s aide at Broadalbin Central School and later at the Broadalbin-Perth School District. She worked in the school library and was also the cheerleading advisor. He was born in Broadalbin on May 27, 1932, a son of Lewis and Millicent Street Cornell and was a 1950 graduate of Broadalbin High School. Gordie lived in Broadalbin his entire life. Mr. Cornell was employed as a lab technician at Mohasco Carpet Mills in Amsterdam until its relocation to Dublin, GA in the early 1980s.
