NY COVID vaccine: Older adults struggle to schedule appointments

Joan Milewski doesn't have a computer. She's in her late 70s (though she refuses to describe herself as anything other than "middle-aged") and gave up having a computer when she entered retirement. She didn't want one, didn't need one and her kids could call her if they wanted to reach her.  So when she learned about the COVID-19 vaccine — and the quickest way to sign up for one was online — it felt unfair.  "If you don't have a computer, you have to wait," said Milewski, who lives in the Oneida County village of New York Mills. "And the phones are always busy, busy, busy."
