During the pandemic, Hospice of Santa Barbara (HSB) is transitioning to serve by providing resources to the community as they relate to COVID-19 through its virtual illuminate Speaker Series, which features a different presenter every month. Next in the lineup is Dr. BJ Miller, whose topic is Let It Fall: The Power of Existential Crises, 6 p.m. Thursday, March 18.
Dr. Miller will examine how 2020 has shaken us to the point where nothing can be taken for granted, and death is being realized as something that can come at any time. “We come together every month with speakers that give the community tools to help navigate COVID-19 through our illuminate Speaker Series. Sharon is one of the first to bring meditation and mindfulness into mainstream American culture over 45 years ago,” said David Selberg, CEO of Hospice of Santa Barbara.
“Her relatable, demystifying approach has inspired generations of meditation teachers and wellness influencers and we hope everyone is able to take part in this event,” he said.

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - This year, there will be two special showings of Hospice of Santa Barbara s 37th Annual Light up a Life which will air on NewsChannel 3.
Hospice of Santa Barbara (HSB) filmed their traditional celebration of reflection, special speakers, poetry, musical entertainment, and the lighting of their Tree of Remembrance, featuring emcee Catherine Remak.
The special will be aired Thursday, December 24 at 11:30 a.m. and Sunday, December 27 at 2 p.m. on NewsChannel 3.
The holiday season can be difficult to navigate without cherished loved ones. HSB honors them every year with Light Up a Life. ....
