escalator began speeding out of control and injuring passengers. metro is investigating escalators after a similar incident on wednesday and stacy cohan has more. >> reporter: the metro escalators are out of service tonight as metro tries to repair all the problems and some passengers are the cause of the problem. this is one way to get above ground and holding it up unmoving stairs can be tiring. however, in the past week, two accidents with metro escalators have given regular riders pause. >> it's scary and hope they are prepared for the number of people riding metro a daily basis....
