Re “This column is another threat to democracy (or so the left says)” (Oct. 1): John Phillips says Democrats use the phrase “a threat to democracy” to shut down anyone who’s ideas progressives disagree with. He writes, “the brand of democracy they claim to fret over actually encompasses the freedom to choose whom to listen to, whom to read, whom to watch, whose product to buy, or whom to vote for.
