Hundreds of lightning strikes in many parts of British Columbia almost tripled the number of active wildfires in the province over the weekend.
An incident commander with the BC Wildfire Service said he took a 2.5 hour flight over the southern flank of the enormous Donnie Creek fire in northeastern British Columbia.
The stretch of cooler weather in southern B.C. also led to snowflakes falling early Monday on Okanagan ski hills and more stormy weather forecast across the region.
There were no life-threatening injuries reported in the four-alarm blaze.
