The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has released over Rs 460 crores deposited as Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) by around 2,300 bidders in its recent and ongoing Housing Scheme. Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena directed DDA to ensure the release of EMDs to applicants within 15 days, emphasizing strict compliance with procedures to avoid harassment.
The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) will launch the e-auction process for Phase II of its Diwali Housing Special Scheme. DDA will offer 707 houses, including seven penthouses in Dwarka Sector 19B, under the scheme. Register now for the e-auction on Feb 5.
The clarification circular was issued after the advisory committee of the Union environment ministry deliberated over the concern that sales of small holdings in private forests are leading to fragmentation.

The lieutenant governor stressed that all tasks should be completed at least an year earlier than the outer limit of 2026 provided by the Act recently passed by the Parliament. The lieutenant governor directed the DDA to immediately identify alternate sites within a radius of five kms where in situ rehabilitation was not possible as per law and the slum dwellers be rehabilitated to a dignified life in flats/houses that have already been constructed under various schemes, the officials said. He instructed the officials to ensure that the entire plan should be put into place within a month and concrete action should start immediately.
Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is seeking to vacate the stay imposed on its plan to demolish Signature View Apartments in north Delhi. DDA has approached the high court to vacate the stay order. The court had ordered DDA not to take any coercive steps against the residents who have challenged the authority s move. DDA argues that the apartments are not fit for habitation and pose a threat to life. The court has asked DDA to file its proposal by way of an affidavit.
The apartment complex in Mukherjee Nagar, built in 2007-09 with 336 MIG and HIG flats, has some construction issues and is up for demolition by the Delhi Development Authority.
