HOT SPRINGS - El Dorado’s DeAndra Burns Jr., won a pair of events and led the Wildcats to the championship Thursday in the Joe Reese Memorial Track & Field Championships.
In a 56-35 win over Searcy, El Dorado chewed the final four minutes off the clock by handing the football to Shadarious Plummer … over and over … again and again.
Plummer finished the game with 30 carries for 216 yards and five touchdowns.
Those weren’t typical single-game numbers for the senior back. But as far as team-first attitude and big-game production, that performance was just another Friday night.
A two-year starter, Plummer was the MVP of the state championship game as a junior. But, as far as durability and carrying a large chunk of the offensive load, he still had something to prove as a senior.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- It's game week, so Missouri State Coach Bobby Petrino wasn't prepared to let his mind wander back a dozen years to a different time.

share-square-144677 TORONTO -- The game of baseball has taken Blue Jays outfielder Jonathan Davis far from home. He has played in the quiet hills of West Virginia and the glaring spotlight of Rogers Centre. He has played in Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic and in dozens of the American small towns and cities that make up the Minor Leagues. Any chance Davis has to be home, though, that’s where you’ll find him. The 28-year-old from Camden, Ark., now lives with his wife, Hannah, and young daughter, Kapri, in Missouri. On Friday, Davis partnered with Major League Baseball to host a drive-thru Play Ball event in Columbia, Miss., where he distributed baseball equipment to families and children in the community.
