Northampton County Council has voted 12 times to fill the vacancy left by Tara Zrinski and has not been able to pick her successor.

Northampton County Council has spent close to nine hours in public meetings so far, trying to fill a vacant seat on the nine-member board.

None of the 25 applicants received the necessary five votes to fill out the remaining two years of Tara Zrinski's term, so voting will resume Feb. 1.
