A team of archaeologists has located the long-lost Monastery of Deer, which is believed to be the birthplace of the earliest written Scots Gaelic.
An elusive monastery where the earliest Scots Gaelic text was written, in the margins of the famed Book of Deer, has finally been unearthed.
"I had never expected us to find the monastery. I am absolutely delighted," archaeologist Alice Jaspars said.
