Ten years ago, Russ Redhead went on Facebook to accuse his pool rival James Harris Jr. of being a no-good, lying cheater. A decade later, a Redhead went to the University of Maryland Medical Center to give his good friend Harris a kidney.
Russ Redhead donated his kidney to James Harris Jr. on Feb. 8, 10 years after the two became bitter rivals at a pool tournament.
It was a long journey for James Harris and Marine veteran Russ Redhead to become close enough that they now wear matching T-shirts that say “Kidney Buddies for Life.”
On Feb. 8, the Marine veteran donated one of his kidneys to Harris at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore.
