JAMMU, July 3: Akhnoor CC Veteran trounced Kameshwar Club by eight wickets in Veterans Cricket Cup Akhnoor, being played at Govt Higher Secondary School Akhnoor, here today.
Kameshwar CC won the toss and decided to bat first. Batting first, the Kameshwar CC scored 124 runs on the loss of six wickets in stipulated 20 overs wherein Gopal Dass made 22 runs off 31 balls while Vikas Virdhi and Raju Singh contributed 39 and 18 runs in 35 and 19 balls respectively. From bowling side, Deepak Sharma, Mannu and Dimpy Sharma clinched one wicket each for their team. ....

India’s deadly coronavirus second wave has underscored a stark digital divide determining who has better access to vaccines and healthcare, as surging caseloads expose shortfalls and overwhelm hospitals.
Onerous online procedures have turned vaccine access into an exclusionary, often lottery-like process in a country where about half the population lacks internet access. 
When India opened up vaccines to all adults on 1 May, those in the 18 to 44 age group had to register through the Cowin platform – a centralised system – before they could book an appointment. For this, they need identity documents and access to a smartphone or computer with a strong internet connection. As states grapple with vaccine shortages, the online system has privileged a small fraction of elite, tech-literate city dwellers.  ....

New Delhi, April 16 : At a time when an outbreak of coronavirus has forced the school students to stay at home and continue their studies online, children of labourers and daily wage workers have no choice but to skip their studies as they can merely afford a smartphone or 24 hours Internet connectivity. Keeping this in mind some Delhi Samaritans, who themselves are students, have started teaching these children.
Yamuna Khadar Pathshala runs under a flyover at the banks of river Yamuna in Delhi s Mayur Vihar, Phase-1. Around 250 students from the nearby slums every day come here to continue their studies offline. ....
