Representative image TIRUPATI: The bodies of six out of seven youngsters, who were washed away in Penna river near Siddavatam in Kadapa district on Thursday evening, were retrieved by police and fire services personnel on Friday. Search operations to trace out the body of one more youngster is still underway. The group of seven, all aged between 18 to 20 years, had gone to Siddavatam on Thursday to attend the first death anniversary function of their friend’s father. “After attending the function, the seven youngsters went for a swim in the Penna river near Siddavatam, but were washed away in the strong current. After receiving information about the tragedy, we rushed to the spot along with district fire services personnel and launched a search operation. We also roped in local fishermen and expert swimmers to look for the bodies,”additional SP Deva Prasad said. ....
