The International Defense Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) and the Naval Defense and Maritime Security Exhibition (NAVDEX) concluded their 15th edition on Thursday in Abu Dhabi, announced the Higher Organizing Committee for the exhibitions.
The five-day events, which kicked off on Feb. 21, saw the signing of deals worth AED20.957 billion ($5.7 billion) among foreign and local companies.
Five deals with international companies and 15 with local companies were inked on the final day of the exhibitions, at a value of AED904.2 million ($246.2 million).

The UAE Armed Forces signed AED20.957 billion ($5.7 billion) worth of deals during the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX) and the Naval Defence Exhibition (Navdex) that concluded their exceptional 15th edition on Thursday (Feb 25) in Abu Dhabi.

The five-day events have seen extensive local and international participation. The central success of the events lies in that it was the first global defence event to take place in the post pandemic recovery stage, with 62,445 attendees at the venue across five days.

Nearly 900 exhibitors, 59 countries, and 35 international pavilions participated in IDEX and Navdex 2021, alongside five countries participating in the exhibitions for the first time: Israel, North Macedonia, Luxembourg, Portugal, and Azerbaijan. ....

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, the Higher Organising Committee of the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX 2021) and the Naval Defence Exhibition (NAVDEX 2021) have completed preparations for the exhibitions, due to be held 21 – 25 February at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, alongside the International Defence Conference 2021 which will take place on 20 February at the ADNOC Business Centre.
