No, i was not there, neither were you, but it is fair to assert that salem, massachusetts did not actually have infestation of witches. What salem, massachusetts had was a really unfortunate panic about a civic hysteria, and to remind us of that, we as americans have this really commonly used phrase, in modern american english, the phrase witchhunt.
