Swindon Town beat Ipswich Town 3-2 at Portman Road in League One

FORMER Norwich City man, Diallang Jaiyesimi struck twice as Swindon Town beat Ipswich Town 3-2 at Portman Road on Saturday night.
A goal of the season contender from Scott Twine completed Swindon’s victory – a result that saw the club beat Ipswich for the first time in 30 years.
The three points did not do enough to haul the Robins out of the bottom four, but it did result in the club’s second away win of the campaign while leaving John Sheridan’s men just a point from safety.
Former Swindon target Oliver Norwood had equalised for the Tractor Boys before two further goals appeared to leave the visitors home and dry.

John Sheridan pleased Swindon Town able to end losing streak

SWINDON Town manager John Sheridan was delighted his team was able to “stop the rot” after preventing a fifth consecutive loss with a 2-2 draw against Charlton Athletic on Saturday.
Following encouraging performances against Gillingham, Fleetwood, and Doncaster Rovers that ultimately saw Swindon come away empty handed, Town were finally able to claim a reward for their efforts as Brett Pitman came off the bench to rescue a point at the County Ground.
Swindon took the lead against Lee Bowyer’s men after sharp passing from Matt Smith and Dion Conroy paved the way for Diallang Jaiyesimi to blast home midway through the first half.

Swindon Town player ratings after draw with Charlton Athletic

Matej Kovar: 6
Kovar was unlucky in the fact he slipped for the first goal, and he was left helpless for the second. His kicking was solid, and he wasn’t tested much in terms of shot stopping.
Akin Odimayo: 6
Odimayo seemed to see a lot of the ball throughout the game. His speed helped to deal with Maddison, and he was a valuable asset going forward. His crosses were hit and miss, though. Booked.
Mathieu Baudry: 5
Baudry’s footwork was clumsy and awkward at times, and he got beaten by Charlton players on too many occasions. Not at fault for the goals, but the Frenchman looked quite slow and out of form.

Swindon Town draw 2-2 with Charlton Athletic after late Brett Pitman goal

BRETT Pitman’s last-gasp header rescued a point for Swindon Town as John Sheridan’s men drew 2-2 with Charlton Athletic at the County Ground on Saturday.
Town took the lead thanks to Diallang Jaiyesimi’s goal midway through the first half, but were pegged back just before the break when Omar Bogle bundled home.
Lee Bowyer’s men took the lead in the second half after a wonderfully-worked goal saw substitute, Chuks Aneke tap home – only for substitute Brett Pitman to nod home a corner in the 90th minute.
Despite a positive result in the end, a draw means Town have now failed to win for five League One games in a row now.

Swindon Town player ratings after 2-1 defeat at Doncaster

Matej Kovar: 7
The Swindon goalkeeper perhaps enjoyed his best display, despite conceding twice. He made a couple of excellent saves in the first half and his communication was excellent. He is certainly growing in stature, so long may it continue.
Akin Odimayo: 6
Odimayo was tidy enough for the most part and created one or two opportunities, but he made a poor error for the second goal with his positioning, and that ultimately cost Town a point.
Mathieu Baudry: 6
Baudry was maybe beaten too easily by Reece James for the first Rovers goal, but other than that, he tidied up nicely and was not caused too many problems.

Doncaster Rovers beat Swindon Town 2-1 in League One

SWINDON Town lost for a fourth League One game in a row after a 2-1 defeat away at Doncaster Rovers on Tuesday night.
A brace from Doncaster’s Reece James in the second half began as the result of a slow start to the latter 45 minutes before the second goal came with 20 minutes to go.
Diallang Jaiyesimi was fouled deep into added time as the same player dispatched a late penalty to give Town their consolation, but it was too little, too late.
Defeat sees Swindon spend another few days in the relegation zone alongside Oxford United – the last team John Sheridan’s men beat – though the Robins are just a point from safety.
