Utah got a nice boost to its snowpack in January, and by Feb. 1, the statewide snow water equivalent percentage of normal increased from 69% at the beginning of the month to 95% by month’s end, according to the state Natural Resources Conservation Service.

Snowpack that will feed the Colorado River this summer has reached 100% of normal levels for the first time in 2024, according to tracking by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation.

Every snowpack basin across the state has received a healthy jolt of water over the past week, boosting some basins to above average for the first time this water year, data shows.
