PG&E Corp. is axing its enhanced tree-trimming program aimed at reducing wildfire risk after deeming it largely ineffective.
Wildfire smoke throughout Carson City and much of western Nevada will continue to remain locked into the region for the next few days, due to the Caldor Fire in El Dorado County and the Dixie Fire burning near Susanville, according to the National Weather Service.
The news came as 10 counties filed a lawsuit against the utility giant for smoke damage from the Dixie and Fly fires.
