Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, DK Shivakumar, addressed rumors of a leadership tussle within the state's Congress regime, stating that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and he would fight the upcoming elections together. Shivakumar supported Siddaramaiah's son, Yathindra, and clarified that Yathindra's words about winning the maximum seats in the Lok Sabha polls were aimed at seeking strength and power from the people.

A Congress source says the main objective is to ensure the party wins at least 15 seats in the upcoming elections.

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar on Tuesday said that the government is in discussion with BBMP officials to reduce property tax penalties for certain types of properties in Bengaluru.

The Congress party's Lok Sabha election committee is set to convene in Bengaluru on January 19 to deliberate on the selection of candidates for the upcoming parliamentary polls. Deputy CM DK Shivakumar, who is also the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president, announced the meeting, which will include AICC observers.

Another initiative is Hasiru Rakshaka: “Under the BBMP limits, safeguarding the greenery of Bengaluru is a collective responsibility. In line with this, the BBMP has introduced three mobile apps and web links to encourage public participation in maintaining gardens and lakes. These apps, namely ‘Hasiru Rakshaka’, ‘Udyana Mitra’, and ‘Kere Mitra’, aim to foster a greener environment within the city,” said an official.
