This may not have resulted in the victory Sunderland wanted at the Stadium of Light. Yet this was no ordinary day on Wearside. Even though Bailey Wright struck his second goal of the season with the sweetest of volleys just after the hour, the Black Cats had to settle for a point having fallen behind to Joe Pigottâs penalty three minutes before the break. Given the amount of possession Sunderland enjoyed over the course of the match, they should probably have won this but Wimbledon created some fantastic chances to win it too.
