It's quiet; one truck with an empty boat trailer is parked at the site. Brian Mackay has unloaded his canoe that he and his brother plan on paddling down to Riverside Park. They have three kids in tow; one is riding in the canoe; two are following along in black float tubes. The scene is far from what City council heard about Tuesday; two letters from concerned boaters described large groups of floaters gathering and blocking access to the launch, drinking beer and taking chances not wearing life-jackets. Mackay said it's a nice, lazy river that provides a calm, relaxing canoe trip.
