Wayne Patrick Thiner, aka “Bear” passed away March 3rd, 2022. He is survived by wife, Donna Schauer-Thiner; father, Francis Thiner; brother, Allen (Pam) Thiner; nephew, Justin (Amara) Thiner and their daughter (Adelyn), and nephew, Travis (Angela) Thiner and their daughter, Kenadie and son, Tayton. He was preceded in death by mother, Louella Thiner (Mielke) and brother, Russell Thiner.

“He’s got two broken legs and his internal organs are a mess. He’s got brain swelling so they had to drill a hole in his skull so that wouldn’t kill him,” Mallicoat said. “He’s in a lot of pain. But he’s one hell of a trooper.” The Iowa State Patrol said in a news release that Hardisty was driving north on J Avenue, also known as County Road P58, when Wink crossed over into the northbound lane and hit her car head-on. Impairment is believed to have played a part in the crash, the release said.
