EDWARDSVILLE Auto theft and possession of methamphetamine made up most of the felony charges filed Monday by the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Marvion D. Gilmore, 27, of Granite City, was charged July 19 with offenses relating to motor vehicles, a Class 2 felony, and resisting arrest causing injury/peace officer and aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, both Class 4 felonies.
The case was presented by the Granite City Police Department.
According to court documents, on July 18 Gilmore allegedly was found to be in possession of a stolen 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser. When approached by a Granite City police officer, he allegedly rolled up the window on the officer’s hand, shattering the window and causing lacerations. He also allegedly tried to flee, reaching speeds in excess of 21 miles above the posted speed limit. ....

EDWARDSVILLE An East Alton man has been charged with battering a disabled person at the Olin Building Apartments.
David J. Jackson, 45, of East Alton, was charged April 6 with aggravated battery, a Class 3 felony, and criminal damage to government supported property, a Class 4 felony.
The case was presented by the East Alton Police Department.
According to court documents, on April 1, Jackson a resident of the Olin Building Apartments allegedly pushed another man who was physically disabled. Jackson also damaged the drywall inside the lobby area of the building, which is operated by the Madison County Housing Authority. Bail was set at $30,000. ....

EDWARDSVILLE A Wood River man faces two felony charges after allegedly striking a Wood River High School teacher and Wood River Police Officer in November.
LaShelvy D. White, 18, of Wood River, was charged March 15 with two counts of aggravated battery, one a Class 2 felony and the other a Class 3 felony.
The case was presented by the Wood River Police Department.
According to court documents, on Nov. 17 White allegedly struck an East Alton High School teacher in the chest, and kneed a Wood River police officer in the groin. ....
