The sister of a woman who was raped and murdered in her own bed by a "sadistic" intruder three decades ago is calling for the creation of stronger laws to prevent sexually-motivated killers from ever being released from jail.
Jonathan Peter Bakewell, who was released in 2016, is currently facing allegations of another parole breach, 33 years after he murdered Anne-Marie Culleton in suburban Darwin.
He was sentenced in 1989 to life in prison and, in 2005, was transferred from Darwin to Adelaide to be closer to his father.

When a repeat violent sexual offender murdered remote area nurse Gayle Woodford, he was free to roam the community unsupervised and had been released from prison without rehabilitation, despite being assessed as high risk by authorities who held "grave concerns" for public safety upon his release.
The many systemic failures that enabled Dudley Davey to continue his path of violent offending have been laid bare in a scathing 103-page Coroners Court findings delivered on Thursday.
Among the most striking is that no application for Davey's indefinite detention was ever made, despite Davey conceivably fitting the legal criteria as a person who could have been declared unwilling or unable to control his sexual urges.

Gayle Woodford, 56, took up a job with Nganampa Health Council in South Australia, and often went to Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands.
The mother-of-two's body was found in a shallow grave three days after she went missing from her home in Fregon - some 1,300km north of Adelaide - in 2016, reports the Daily Mail.

Gayle Woodford murder inquest: Coroner findings handed down

The South Australia coroner has handed down a number of findings after an inquest into the murder of nurse Gayle Woodford.
Ms Woodford, 56, was abducted, raped and killed while responding to a call-out in Fregon, a remote community in South Australia's Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands, in March 2016.
She had been on call by herself and responded alone to a call-out from her killer, Dudley Davey.

Police should be stationed in the South Australian outback town of Fregon where outback nurse Gayle Woodford was brutally raped and murdered, a coroner has recommended.
SA Deputy Coroner Anthony Schapel on Thursday handed down his findings into the death of Ms Woodford in 2016, declaring it "perverse" that a town of such lawlessness had no permanent police presence.
The 56 year old's body was found buried in a crude grave three days after she went missing from her Fregon home.
It's believed Davey, who had a significant history of violent and sexual offending, tricked Ms Woodford into opening a security cage around her home and overpowered her as she walked to her ambulance.
