Gary Lang, the owner of a McHenry car dealership, insisted Sunday a message that said criminals and new strains of COVID-19 are coming over the border that he displayed on his business digital marquee last week was not racist, while also saying he was sorry many community members took it that way.
The marquee message sparked backlash against his auto company on social media, and disappointed local activists who marched in downtown Historic Woodstock Square on Sunday to protest violence by police officers.
Organizers of the rally, which drew about 40 people, called Lang s message racist ahead of the event.

A former Kmart store, vacant for 12 years, is transforming into a mass vaccination site, the result of a collaboration among the city of McHenry, the McHenry County Department of Health, and local businesses, officials said.
City leaders will officially turn the building at 1900 N. Richmond Road over to the local health department Friday afternoon, according to a news release.
County Administrator Pete Austin said McHenry did a fantastic job of preparing the building, in large part due to McHenry Police Chief John Birk. I know that they had to do some cleaning in there and painting and rewiring and getting internet, Austin told the Northwest Herald.
Another rich businessman….so excited never seen that before.
Maybe he’ll take his private sector business sense and translate it into government and bring back some common sense…..sn/

Hopefully this candidate has or can get money to really challenge in the GOP primary, being a Trump supporter. May have to stock up on popcorn.
He will get 22-26% of the vote in the primary. Current name ID runs in the 6% column. It’s bad but remember then candidate Bruce Rauner obtained 2% in NAME ID. The gubernatorial race for 2022 is SAFE DEMOCRAT. Won’t be a cakewalk but Mr Pritzker will win again.
