The New Orleans Saints traded four Day 3 selections in the 2020 NFL draft to the Minnesota Vikings to move back into the 3rd round of last year’s draft. They used the 105th overall selection on the tight end from the University of Dayton, Adam Trautman. Trautman appeared in 15 games last season, catching 15 passes for 171 yards and a touchdown.
Once Trautman got acclimated to the speed and intricacies of the NFL, he earned more playing time as the year progressed. He started five of the year’s last seven contests, and 12 of his 15 receptions came in the previous nine games. Veterans Josh Hill and Jared Cook were ahead of him on the depth chart; however, the team planned to groom Trautman to become the starter in 20 ....

Former New Orleans Saints tight end Josh Hill made the team as an undrafted rookie from Idaho State in 2013. Hill forged an unlikely eight-year career before retiring shortly after signing a free agent contract with the Detroit Lions this offseason.
Never known as a great receiver, Hill caught 15 touchdowns and averaged just 14 receptions and 134 yards per season. The highest production of his career was in 2019, when he caught 25 passes for 226 yards. Hill earned snaps because of his outstanding blocking ability. Possibly the best blocker in the league at his position, he was an extension of the offensive line and an underrated reason for the success of the New Orleans offense. ....

BAYLOR
Nose tackle Siaki Ika, sophomore. The LSU transfer played in 13 games as part of a rotation at nose tackle and had 17 tackles as a true freshman on the Tigersâ 2019 national championship team, when second-year Baylor head coach Dave Aranda was LSUâs defensive coordinator. The 6-foot-4, 350-pound Ika should be a force in the middle for the Bears, and is a huge boost on the defensive front that was lacking experience.
IOWA STATE
Tight end Easton Dean, sophomore. The 6-foot-6, 251-pound Dean played quarterback in high school, but was switched to TE upon his arrival in Ames. Coach Matt Campbell declared then that Dean would âbe the best tight end weâve ever had here.â Dean now gets the chance to show it with Dylan Soehnerâs departure. The Cyclones love to line up with three tight ends, and Dean should be in that group with stars Charlie Kolar and Chase Allen. ....
