How do we nurture reciprocity rather than transactional relationships in art? How do we sustain community through gentrification, a pandemic and revolution? What would it take to decolonize art? And what do creative and cultural communities need in order to stay rooted in the Bay Area?

This yearâs Downtown Holiday Festival will be going virtual, but rest assured it will include a sleigh-full of Richmond merriment. The annual seasonal event hosted by Richmond Main Street Initiative (RMSI) and the East Bay Center for the Performing Arts (EBCPA) will air on Wed., Dec. 16 on Zoom and YouTube Live.
According to RMSI, the evening of yuletide cheer will kick off with âStorytime with Santaâ at 6 p.m., followed by âA Richmond Nutcrackerâ at 6:30 p.m.  To participate, community members can RSVP to watch via Zoom (and chat live with the North Pole)  or tune in via YouTube Live.
