Presidential Mountain Resort to expand in Bethlehem
March 10, 2021BETHLEHEM Development plans have changed for the Presidential Mountain Resort in Bethlehem. Rather than constructing a Hilton Hotel on the north side of Route 302 as initially planned, owner Yitz Rudich intends to add more freestanding cabins this spring.
David Eckman of Eckman Engineering told Planning Board officials last week that the hotel was no longer deemed financially viable. He presented informal, conceptual plans for an additional six to twelve cabin units to complement the existing destination resort across the street.
According to documents filed at the Bethlehem Town Hall, Eckman plans to utilize the existing parking, entrances and landscaping on the 42-acre lot for the new development. While Rudich has yet to determine the number of units to be installed, each 685 square-foot cabin would measure approximately 24 by 28 feet, with two bedrooms and a loft area.
