This week’s guilty verdict in the trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin marked a historic moment in America. Chauvin was convicted on all charges in the murder of George Floyd. Many view the trial as a defining moment for police accountability and racial justice. Darnella Frazier, who was 17 at the time, captured the video that many say made the verdict possible. Testimony ran for three weeks and it took jurors about ten hours to reach their decision. Following the announcement, KAZU and NPR provided live, special coverage Tuesday.

IN A VIRTUAL TOWN HALL THIS EVENING, MONTEREY COUNTY HEALTH LEADERS TRIED TO CLARIIFY THE PROCESS AND THE TIMELINE....BUT IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AN EXACT DATE, YOU'LL BE DISAPPOINTED. ### MONTEREY COUNTY HELD A VIRTUAL TOWN HALL THURSDAY TONIGHT TO SPECIFICALLY ANSWER QUESTIONS ABOUT THE VACCINE ....YESTERDAY THE GOVERNOR ANNOUNCED THAT PEOPLE 65 AND OLDER ARE NOW ELIGIBLE TO GET THEVACCINE....THAT TOUCHED OFF A FRENZY AND THAT WAS THE FIRST QUESTION TO HEALTH OFFICER ED MORENO TONIGHT....WHEN WILL THAT HAPPEN...THE COUNTY'S HEALTH OFFICER SAYS RIGHT NOW ALL VACCINE DOSES IN THE COUNTY ARE DEDICATED TO HEALTHCARE AND FRONTLINE WORKES IN TIER 1A.... MORENO ALSO SAY THE STATE USES A FORUMAL TO ALLOCATE VACCINES EQUITABLELY TO COUNTIES BUT HE SAYS THE DEMAND RIGHTNOW IS OUTPACING SUPPLY.. ### AND A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE BEEN EXPRESSING CONERNS THAT THE COUNTY IS SITTING ON VACCINES....AND THAT THEY COULD EXPIRE. DOCTOR MORENO SAYS THAT IS áNOT HAPPENING IN MONTEREY COUNTY. BOTH THE PFIZER AND MODERNA VACCINES HAVE A SHELF LIFE OF SIX MONTHS WHEN STORED IN FREEZERS AT THE PROPER TEMPERATURE. TO DATE MONTEREY COUNTY HAS RECEIVED 24 THOUSAND DOSES OF VACCINE AND ADMINISTERED 11 THOUSAND OF THOSE DOSES. CURRENTLY WHAT IS IN THE COUNTY'S FREEZER ARE DOSES THAT HAVE ALREADY BEEN DEDICATED TO APPOINTMENT SLOTS FOR VARIOUS PEOPLE IN PHASE 1A DISTRIBUTION. THE COUNTY ESTIMATES THAT BY THE END OF
