More women are taking the leap into business ownership in Ireland. For start-ups using support from Enterprise Ireland, the 2012 statistics were stark, with just 8% of applicants being female. However, by 2022 it had increased to 37%. Siobhán Howe speaks to the female owners of some Irish businesses that have been set up in the last five years to hear their stories — the challenges, the sacrifices, the determination, and at the core the love of what they do that drives them to continue.
