In 2002, Eduardo Madina was the victim of an attack by the terrorist group ETA. A bomb hidden underneath his car resulted in long-term physical damage including the amputation of his left leg. Since then, the former deputy of the Spanish Socialist Worker’s Party (PSOE) has been one of the most outspoken voices for reconciliation.
