The president in his speech incite the activities of that day, it would have given the individuals who were on the ground at the capitol that much more trying to think of the right word here but it would have allowed them to believe that the president himself was authorizing their behavior. and i don t know, i think we would have had to physically remove each and every individual off the grounds. mm-hmm, and could it have created tension too between law enforcement individuals like yourself that were trying to protect the capitol and then the president would come with his own security detail, right? what would have been the back and forth between secret service trying to keep the president safe with you trying to keep his supporters at bay? i mean, that would have just probably been a dangerous elixir of things. yeah, i ve been thinking about that a lot lately, especially with all the back and forth between the committee and secret service regarding text ....

Going to have to essentially allow it to happen. do you feel as if the supreme court has constrained your ability to fight guns? look, i think it really doesn t do a whole lot. in maryland we have got some of the toughest gun laws in the country, but it hasn t stopped the shooting. 99% of the gun crimes that take place are all illegal guns. it has nothing to do with from states that don t have the maryland laws, correct? well, they re ghost guns and people trafficking and stolen guns. but the violent crime problem is real, and it doesn t have much to do with how you go about registration on concealed carry because the shooters, the repeat violent offenders, they don t follow gun laws. i hear you. but look at all these mass shootings. too many of them, they re always, oh, by the way, the gun was purchased legally. here you have states with red flag laws that can t be implemented. is that really the elixir? i sign a red flag law that does work in maryland. ....
