PORTSMOUTH Sheriff David Thoroughman announced the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office recently went through an audit concerning documentation, training, and call volume with the Ohio 9-1-1 Program Office.
The office reviewed documentation and continuing training records of the Dispatchers in the 9-1-1 Center.
The Ohio 9-1-1 Program Office coordinates and facilitates communication concerning 9-1-1 issues among state, federal, regional and local 9-1-1 and public safety communications officials. Specifically, the office coordinates all Emergency Services Internet Protocol Network (ESINet) Steering Committee activities to facilitate Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG 9-1-1) state level efforts within the scope of wireless 9-1-1. ....

State of Nebraska picks Lumen to provision its NG911 platform

Lumen lands a new NG911 contract with the State of Nebraska to provide improvements to the state s emergency service network. (Lumen)
The State of Nebraska recently picked Lumen to help transition to a next generation 911 (NG911) platform by using its network backbone and IP-based software.
The contract with State of Nebraska Public Service Commission established a statewide Emergency Services Internet Protocol Network (ESInet) that serves approximately 70 Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs), with the goal of having all seven PSAP regions connected to the ESInet by the end of next year.
The contract, which Lumen had won previously, has an initial term of five years with five one-year options. The contract is worth nearly $815,000 the first year and $1.8 million a year for the remaining fours years, followed by five one year-options that would extend the contract for up to 10 years, according to a Lumen spokesperson. ....

DENVER, Jan. 25, 2021 /PRNewswire/ The State of Nebraska recently selected Lumen (NYSE: LUMN) to help it transition to a next generation 911 platform using the company s emergency service network, IP-based software, applications and call routing services. Transitioning to Lumen s current NG911 platform will improve the delivery of emergency calls and enable Nebraska residents to contact 911 not only by making a voice call, but also support sending text messages, pictures and videos.
