TikTok Star Gets First Look at Epcot's Ratatouille Ride

The woman who kicked off the DIY Ratatouille musical on TikTok has gotten a sneak peek at the new Ratatouille ride at Walt Disney World.
Disney has given New York teacher Emily Jacobsen, who musically declared her love for Pixar's aspiring chef in a TikTok post last summer, a walk through tour of part of the new Remy's Ratatouille Adventure dark ride, now under construction in the expanded France pavilion in Epcot's World Showcase.
Jacobsen's original post went viral on the social media platform, inspiring others to create their own Ratatouille-themed songs. Eventually, a group of those creators came together to produce Ratatouille, the TikTok Musical, which will stream on January 1, 2021 at 7pm Eastern. Tickets will benefit The Actors Fund, a 138-year-old charity that benefits actors and backstage workers in theater and other performing arts.

TikTok’s crowdsourced Ratatouille musical has cooked up some serious talent for its one-night-only benefit concert, including roles for Tituss Burgess, Adam Lambert, Wayne Brady, Andre De Shields and Ashley Park.
Ratatouille: The TikTok Musical – fondly nicknamed the Ratatousical – will begin streaming on Friday night (Jan 1) for 72 hours. Tickets, priced at US$5 (S$6.65), are on sale exclusively on TodayTix.com. Proceeds will benefit The Actors Fund, which aids entertainment industry workers.

Cast unveiled for Broadway debut of TikTok musical Ratatouille

The star of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and 30 Rock, Tituss Burgess, will play the role of Remy the rat in the highly anticipated debut of Ratatouille, “the TikTok musical”.
The cast of the unlikely musical phenomenon, which tells the story of a gastronomically blessed French rat, was announced on Monday.
As reported by the Guardian in October, the musical is a crowd-created phenomenon with no set creator, and began as an internet meme based on the 2007 Pixar animated film.
Now, in a series of events as unlikely as a Parisian rat becoming an acclaimed chef, it will be staged as a one-off charity performance, to be livestreamed online.

"Ratatouille: The TikTok Musical" — fondly nicknamed the "Ratatousical" — will begin streaming on Friday at 7 p.m. ET for 72 hours. Tickets are on sale exclusively on TodayTix.com and are $5. Proceeds will benefit The Actors Fund, which aids entertainment industry workers. 
It is the product of several minds — many musical theater fans and out-of-work performers — who collaborated on original songs, lyrics and ideas to turn an animated, non-musical film into a two-act Broadway-style show. 
The story for both film and musical centers on Remy, an ambitious rat who dreams of becoming a Parisian chef. Burgess will play Remy, Lambert plays his older brother, Emile, and Brady plays his father. Tony Award-winner De Shields plays food critic Anton Ego, Kevin Chamberlin plays the great chef Gusteau and Andrew Barth Feldman plays Gusteau's "nephew" Linguini.

'Ratatouille' fan gets sneak peek of new EPCOT attraction


LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - Move over Mickey Mouse. Another rodent is about to take center stage at Walt Disney World. 
The resort's EPCOT park is putting the finishing touches on an attraction that was inspired by Disney and Pixar's 2007 "Ratatouille" film.
Remy's Ratatouille Adventure will "shrink" guests down to the size of a rat and take them on a culinary adventure with Chef Remy, racing across Gusteau's kitchen floor.
On Sunday, Disney treated "Ratatouille" fan Emily Jacobsen, whose performance of a song she created about Remy became a social media phenomenon, to a sneak peek of the attraction.

The story for both film and musical centers on Remy, an ambitious rat who dreams of becoming a Parisian chef. Burgess will play Remy, Lambert plays his older brother, Emile, and Brady plays his father. Tony Award-winner De Shields plays food critic Anton Ego, Kevin Chamberlin plays the great chef Gusteau and Andrew Barth Feldman plays Gusteau’s “nephew” Linguini.
Other cast members will be Tony-winner Priscilla Lopez, Tony-nominee Ashley Park, Owen Tabaka and three-time Tony-nominee Mary Testa. The show will be performed with the 20-piece Broadway Sinfonietta orchestra.
The musical — based on the 2007 Disney/Pixar film — has been percolating over the past several months on TikTok and many of that social media platform’s viral stars who helped contribute to the show are involved in the production.
