CHICAGO (Legal Newsline) – Selsun Blue’s maximum strength anti-dandruff shampoo contains a toxic chemical that irritates scalps, a class action lawsuit claims. Lawyers at McGuire Law filed their case Feb. 3 in Chicago federal court against the product’s maker, Sanofi-Aventis. The suit says Selsun Blue has a chemical known as DMDM that is a “formaldehyde donor” and can cause irritation, hair damage and hair loss. “Nowhere did Defendant disclose to Plaintiff and other purchasers of its Maximum Strength Selsun Blue products that its products contained chemical compounds that could exacerbate scalp irritation and/or cause hair loss,” the suit says. ....
