After five days of deliberations, a deadlocked jury still could not reach a verdict in the trial of the man accused of murdering a Weymouth police sergeant and a 77-year-old widow.

The verdict comes after the jury spent a week deliberating Lopes’ fate.

On Wednesday, jurors in the second murder trial of Emmanuel Lopes were sent home without a verdict.
