A new initiative from the Biden administration allows private sponsor groups to support the resettlement of refugees by joining the Welcome Corps.
On January 19, 2023, the State Department unveiled a new refugee program, Welcome Corps, which enables private sponsorship of refugees. The Welcome Corps program follows President Biden’s 2021 Executive Order on Rebuilding and Enhancing Programs to Resettle Refugees.
