Time. where were you? what unit were you in? i was with the engineer unit. army? army. i did 12 years. were you in rc east? i was in rc south. rc south? we actually moved the engineers were always out. we lived in a lot of places, moved around a lot. i was with the tactical unit out of denver, colorado. mostly kandahar area, housing madad. housing camps, we would build them up to livable, and move on in the fobs. basically. the question thank you so much. the end date i think is on the minds of a lot of people. thank you for what you ve done for us. you by going and risking your life, is making us more safe. on behalf of all of us here in wisconsin, thank you for what you ve done for our country. thank you for your service. and the people listening at home, that applause is not just for these two fine gentlemen, but everybody who has served for america. you had a question for the speaker. yeah. the war in afghanistan has been going on for 17 years. still going strong. my deployment was in afghanistan in 2010. the whole year. but the important question is, i was looking for more of an end date and if so, what s the continuing plan for an actual end date? it would seem like we re going to be continuing for quite some time. where were you? what unit were you in? i was with the engineer unit. army? army. i did 12 years. were you in rc east? ....
Wear it for the people who didn t make it. over half of those who have received the medal of honor passpass passed away, only nine from iraq and afghanistan are still living. certainly, his humility here and the way he s receiving this honor is to be commended. there s a lot of other people from his unit now, three from the 173rd brigade, that served in afghanistan during that 15-month deployment that are living recipients of the award. i think all of them have been consistent with the fact that they want to remember those who fell. this was a very controversial battle where nine other soldiers died not only with him but fighting for his life. i think, you know, his humility here should be commended. why do you say it s controversial, john? well, the way that they went into the village. you know, they had only been there for 48 to 72 hours. they were setting up a combat outpost. there was only one combat brigade in the entire rc east. they were overrun very quickly. there s been a ....
Oblivious to the rising strength. there was a lot of foreign policy last night which surprised a lot of people. they were expecting more on the economy. let me play an exchange over afghanistan. that s the afghan responsibility. we trained them. not in the east. let s move to another war. not in the east? rc east is the most dangerous place in the world. that s why we should send americans to do the job? you would rather americans do the job? we are already sending americans to do the job, but fewer of them. that s right. we are sending more afghans to do the job. afghans to do the job. michael, how do you think that played? i thought through all the foreign policy segments, with the exception of libya which is a special case which the obama administration is clearly on defense. what came across is there is a huge difference in style and attitude how these two campaigns will approach things. when they got to the policies, the two sides are remarkably similar. the ro ....
