Prior to the controversy - which stems over a campaign that includes pro-trans T-shirts for kids - Target shares were trading at $160.96, giving the retailer a market valuation of roughly $74.3 billion.
A Target in Layton, Utah, was evacuated after bomb threats were made against the store, and several others in Utah and Ohio, to local news stations.
Over the last few weeks, the retail giant has been reviled by families - particularly mothers - for pushing transgender clothes, books and greeting cards in its stores.
Gavin Newsom has accused Target of 'selling out LGBTQ communities' by walking back some of the products from its Pride collection. 'Wake up America,' he tweeted.
