Tennessee reported a record 203 new novel coronavirus-related (COVID-19) deaths on Friday, topping the previous record of 192 reported on Jan. 26.

Ballad Health’s hospitalization numbers continue to plummet, with the system reporting 136 COVID-19 patients in its facilities on Friday — a drop of 24 and another three-month low.

If the monthly death record doesn’t fall on Wednesday, it will likely fall on Thursday, as the state has only recorded fewer than 50 deaths over a two-day period twice in the past two months.
