To the editor: (re: “It was all over a simple typo,” June 29) In his letter to The Riverdale Press defending his mishandling of the petitions circulated by the Unity Democratic Club which resulted in 1,100 Democrats being disenfranchised in the June 27 primary, Lewis Kaminski accuses the Benjamin Franklin Reform Democratic Club of acting “to make sure we stay stuck just where we are.”
It was just a day after Darcel Clark won her contested primary to remain the Bronx district attorney. The event was an evening meant to express appreciation for members of the Benjamin Franklin Reform Democratic Club. But instead, Clark had nothing but appreciation for her voters and supporters.
To the editor: As older adults and as members of RSS-Riverdale Senior Services, the social action committee is appalled at Mayor Eric Adams’ proposed budget cuts of $7 million in funding for older adult centers — $5 million in funding home-delivered meals, and elimination of the additional one-time reimbursement rate for home-delivered meals.
Jewish educators and students can now continue to comfortably celebrate one of the most important holidays in their religion from the comfort of their homes.
The Kingsbridge Historical Society was granted a property tax exemption by the New York city finance department with the help of Councilman Eric Dinowitz and his office after previously being issued a hefty tax bill.
