  WINGHA, ONT. -- A month-long outbreak at an Exeter long-term care home has finally come to an end. The Huron-Perth Health Unit declared the outbreak at Exeter Villa over on Wednesday. Since the outbreak began on Dec. 18, 50 residents and staff at Exeter Villa contracted COVID-19. Three residents died. Home administrators say all residents and staff at Exeter Villa have now been vaccinated against COVID-19. Great news from Huron Perth Public Health. The outbreak of COVID-19 cases at the Exeter Villa has been declared over as of January 24th. Throughout the outbreak, the facility saw 50 confirmed cases, with 37 total in residents and 13 in staff. Huron East led the way with 21 new cases, followed by North Perth with 6, Bluewater and Stratford each added 3 cases, and Perth East, Morris Turnberry and North Huron each added 1 new case and one case was moved to another health unit.
