ISLAMABAD: The federal government has called on the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to resign, a few days after the Senate chairman and deputy chairman elections were held.
Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood was holding a press conference, flanked by Shibli Faraz and Fawad Chaudhry. In a hard-hitting press conference, the minister lashed out at the ECP, accusing it of failing to act as a neutral umpire .
Mehmood said PM Imran Khan had always campaigned against the power of money to influence elections. He said the ECP was responsible for holding transparent polls and that it had failed to discharge its duties. ....

A new Pop-Up Globe that is under construction at the Ellerslie Race Course.
Failed Shakespearean Auckland theatre business The Pop-Up Globe owes more than $1 million to creditors whose names have now been published in the first liquidators report.
The business has for about six years been erecting
a full-scale temporary replica of the Shakespearean Globe Theatre and staging plays but it went under on March 3.
ANZ, Inland Revenue and scaffolding specialists Camelspace are some of the creditors listed by the liquidators.

POWHATAN, Va. (WWBT) - Virginia State Police have located a convicted sex offender who they say failed to re-register, which is required by law.
Thanks to an anonymous tip, State Police located Bruce Rowland Cox Jr, 42, and took him into custody.
Police said he was registered to a home in Powhatan County but left at some point in January and has not registered a new address.
“He last registered with state police in February 2020 and listed his employment address at a factory in Powhatan County. State police has confirmed that Cox has not worked there in almost a year,” VSP said. ....
