History. I grew up as an appalachian girl, working class in a tiny little town and i was the first in my family to go to college, which was a very big step for me and ended up through a scholarship from a Group Getting a scholarship going to college and doing super well in college and ended up finally after a lot of stumbles and falls going on getting a graduate degree from harvard and that journey that i experience myself came back to North Carolina and founded this nonprofit. The people that work with me on this nonprofit created this kind of out of school for another opportunity for the girls living in the most rural and remote parts of the appalachian mountains.
