Let s let this happen at the tactical level. let s let them move in. maybe they were just waiting to see how fast prigozhin would move and how quickly he would move up this highway possibly toward moscow. so what changed is there was a major threat to putin s leadership, perhaps the most serious threat in 20 years. it looks to be over. what has not changed is the battle is still raging here along this border. by the way, russian defenses there, which are multi-layered, full of minefields here, a whole host of measures designed to repel ukrainian attacks, that hasn t changed. but does it still provide an opportunity given questions about leadership, unit cohesion, will to fight? absolutely because what will happen with the russians, you know, if they re looking at this in a weakened state, they re not manning the trenches. they re not manning the tank traps. they re not manning some of the other areas that they would need to man in order to prevent the ukrainians from moving forward. there have been about 20 engagements in this area over the last 48 hours.
Sure that we use any cracks that we see in their ability to function in ukraine to push them further out of ukraine. so when you look at the logistics of war, certainly you ve got the war on the battle front, you know, if we see weaknesses in their inability to get the supplies to their troops we need to be taking advantage of that and pushing those troops back. the other thing i will tell you is that you can always lose the war at home not just on the battlefield and so as you look at what is happening inside russia, if there is a coup or weakness that is going on there, i don t think we as the united states want to be a part of that coup, but we need to be paying very close attention to who the next leader of russia is and, again, the movement and how far and how fast prigozhin was able to move through there is an indicator of two things, one, that russia is losing some of his grasp that putin is
