Photographers Collin Howell, Sujata Khanna, and Lottie Hedley lead vastly different lives. While New York-based Howell will spend this month in South Africa shadowing a wild dog conservation initiative, Khanna will be pursuing her personal mission to tell the stories of India’s abused and ostracized widows. A world away in New Zealand, Hedley has devoted time to studying ethical and sustainable agriculture.

In the digital age, a photographer’s website must act not only as a business card but also as a full-length portfolio. Perhaps more than any other visual field, photography demands not only that your images make a bold and powerful statement but also that they tell a story.

“Since earth is earth, perhaps, not heaven (as yet) / It only gives our wish for blue a whet,” writes Robert Frost in his 1920 poem Fragmentary Blue, in which he laments the fact that the divine color appears on the ground merely from time to time, becoming an ever-elusive link tying us to the firmament above.
