The greater white-toothed shrew, normally found in western Europe and North Africa, has now made its way to Sunderland

Greater White-toothed Shrew was recently identified in north-east England, where it appears to be established.

The world became alerted to the discovery after Melissa Young, a digital marketing executive in Sunderland, posted pictures of the new shrew, which had been caught by her cat in the garage.
