Host lets start off with the role of the Inspector General. One of the best parts of what is going on now is most people have no idea what the Inspector General is. They are a unique role that was established during the 1970s in andonse to Financial Issues perceptions of financial mismanagement in executive agencies by congress. A series of laws were passed that dealt with ways to reduce waste. Established the first 12 Inspector Generals. Of clearing fraud, waste, and abuse was one aspect. They were to look at the economy and efficiency of federal agencies. There are now 75 inspectors general....

This day of remembrance with our family and friends, things look a little bit different this year. Died in the meuseargonne area, but there were also some civilians and other soldiers brought from other areas. Yes, but basically, most of the soldiers here died during the meuseargonne. It was grammatical for that battle. It was over 26,000 soldiers killed, 96,000 wounded, more or less. Almost half a percent of the soldiers are buried in that france cemetery. We have a few civilians, maybe we will see some graves later on. Especially nurses, people from the american red cross, ymca, graves we will see walking in the graveyard. What was life like for you growing up . Yes, my family moved to larchmont, new york when i was just a baby. I was raised there, went to the town north of larchmont for junior high. After ninthgrade, went down to exeter and had three years there. After that i entered dartmouth in the fall of 1940 and once my freshman year was behind me, it was apparent by that time that we were not yet in the war, we might be drawn into it because the germans were sinking ships in the atlantic including american ships.
