Serbia s push to use the 30th anniversary of its ties with Korea in 2019 to improve bilateral relations seemed likely to lose steam when the COVID-19 pandemic broke out last year.

It is fair to say that the Serbians had a stake in the Greek Revolution and the Independence of Greece, even prior to 25 March 1821, with leaders of the Serbian people and key protagonists in, or veterans of the Serbian revolt, such as Serbian revolutionary leader Karadjordje, becoming sworn members of the Filiki Etairia.
Indeed, when the Greek Revolution was proclaimed, not in Greece, but in Moldavia in February 1821, Prince Alexander Ypsilanti’s forces were comprised of mixed Greek and Serbian fighters. Some of these were known for their ferocity. Captain Milenko Stojković, was renowned for having killed the Ottoman notables Aganlija, Kucuk Alija, Mula Jusuf and Mehmed Focic, responsible for the killing of Serbian Princes that triggered the First Serbian Uprising, ....

External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar on Monday extended greetings to the Serbian Foreign Minister Nikola Selakovic, the entire government and citizens on the occasion of their National Day. Every year, February 15 in Serbia is a national holiday to commemorate the outbreak of the First Serbian Uprising in 1804 that further evolved into the Serbian Revolution against the Ottoman rule. Taking to Twitter, EAM also noted the bilateral relations between India and Serbia that is time-tested” and assured that it will continue to “flourish” in the future.  ....

Crown Prince Alexander condemns theft of valuable Serbian royal artefacts

Over the past weekend there was been a break-in at the Royal Serbian Museum in Radovanjski. His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander has issued a statement in which he strongly condemns the theft of several valuable objects with deep royal history.
One or more unknown persons stole several extremely valuable and old items. The items that are missing are a 100-year-old gospel, two wedding crowns, two holsters and a “flintlock” rifle. The burglary was carried out through the museum window. Dragutin Pasic, the president of the local community in Radovanje, says that it is not known when the theft was committed, it is assumed that it was committed sometime between January 27 and January 29. The Museum is dedicated to Karadjordje, the supreme leader of the First Serbian Uprising and founder of Karadjordjevic Dynasty and was opened to the public in 2017. ....
