The Australian government unveiled a A$1.2 billion ($928 million) tourism support package on Thursday, aimed at boosting local travel while international routes remain closed because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Because Australia has managed the pandemic well, it at least has a shot at getting domestic tourism in a healthy shape again.
The measure is part of a package of measures which also includes cheap loans to tour firms and aid for large airlines.
